Ab dem 07.03.1899 konnten Blindenbriefe in den USA zum Drucksachenporto versandt werden (1 c je 2 oz). Portofreiheit für Blindensendungen im In- und ins Ausland gilt seit dem 27.04.1904 bis heute.

Postal stationary 1 cent with a text in Braille on the reverse from Boston dated 10.09.1907 to Dorchester. Up to 27.04.1904 1 c per 2 oz had to be paid for regular letters for the blind. From that date on letters for/of the blind could be sent free of postage, that was stated officially by the UPU Circular of 13.12.1906
